MSP Noise Oversight Committee January UpdatesPosted on January 19, 2021
The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) Noise Oversight Committee (NOC) met on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 and discussed several topics related to flight activty and aircraft noise associated with MSP.
Speakers from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) discussed their recently published Neighborhood Environmental Survey. The FAA is accepting comments on the document until March 15, 2021 and comments can be submitted here. The NOC will further discuss this topic at a special meeting being held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.
Representatives from Delta Air Lines, Sun Country Airlines and the MAC shared updates about airline schedules, market impacts in 2020, and forecasted 2021 airline activity. MAC staff also shared results from a MSP 2020 Complaint Data Assessment and the 2020 Fleet Mix and Nighttime Operations Assessment.
The NOC is an advisory board to the MAC and is comprised of industry and community representatives who address aircraft noise issues associated with activity at MSP.
