MSP Noise Oversight Committee March Meeting UpdatePosted on March 15, 2021
The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) Noise Oversight Committee (NOC) meeting was held on March 17, 2021. At this meeting, Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) staff provided an overview of both the scope of the upcoming Minnetonka Mobile Monitoring Study and the 2020 Annual Noise Contour Report. More information about the mitigation program is available at www.macnoise.com/noise-mitigation-program.
In addition, MAC and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) staff provided updates on several airfield projects that will begin next month and continue through the fall. These include the reconstruction of some airfield taxiways and re-grading of the runway safety area near Runway 17/35. Construction activities may require periodic runway closures and the use of construction equipment. Communities near the airport may notice unusual runway use or hear construction equipment at times. More information will be provided as construction activities commence.
The NOC is an advisory board to the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), comprised of industry and community representatives who address aircraft related issues associated with activity at MSP. The group meets on the third Wednesday of odd-numbered months. The next meeting will be May 19, 2021 at 1:30 P.M.
The agenda and meeting materials for NOC meetings and information on how to participate in this teleconference may be found at: www.macnoise.com/our-neighbors/msp-noise-oversight-committee-noc-meetings.
